Region: Lisbon, Portugal Producer: Casa Agrícola das Mimosas, Lda. - Chocapalha Farm Grape: 100% Syrah Alcohol Content: 13.5% Soil Type: Limestone Clay Vineyard Age: 26 years
Mar da Palha 2018 reveals an intense color with violet nuances, characteristic of the Syrah variety. The aroma is deep and sophisticated, highlighting ripe fruits such as plum and blackberries, accompanied by notes of spice typical of the variety, well integrated with a touch of wood. On the palate, it is a full-bodied and complex wine, with mature and elegant tannins, balanced by an enveloping freshness that prolongs the end of the tasting.
The grapes were carefully de-stemmed and subjected to pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures for 12 hours. Alcoholic fermentation took place in plants with temperature control, at a maximum of 26ºC, over 10 days. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and aged for 18 months in second and third use French oak barrels, adding complexity and depth to the wine's profile.
Perfect to accompany red meat dishes, such as grilled sirloin steak or roast lamb. It pairs equally well with game dishes and aged cheeses. Serve at an ideal temperature of 16-18°C to bring out its full potential.
Signed by winemaker Sandra Tavares da Silva, this Syrah expresses the best of Lisbon's terroir, combining aromatic richness and balance to create an unforgettable enogastronomic experience.
