Region: Lisbon, Portugal Producer: Casa Agrícola das Mimosas - Quinta de Chocapalha Grapes: 100% Alicante Bouschet Alcohol Content: 14.5% Soil Type: Limestone Clay Vineyard Age: 33 years
It has an opaque and deep color, with great aromatic density dominated by black fruits and chocolate, combined with an elegant profile. In the mouth, this wine impresses with its large volume, silky texture and high-quality tannins. A full-bodied and balanced wine, with excellent aging potential, reflecting the excellence of the Alicante Bouschet variety.
The grapes were harvested manually, de-stemmed and subjected to pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures. Alcoholic fermentation took place in plants with temperature control, not exceeding 25°C. The wine aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, where it also underwent malolactic fermentation, ensuring a refined and sophisticated profile.
This wine is ideal to accompany sophisticated and intense dishes such as game meat, roast lamb or mushroom dishes. It also pairs perfectly with aged cheeses and dark chocolate-based desserts. Serve between 16-18°C.
Winemakers: Sandra Tavares da Silva & Miguel Cavaco
