Soalheiro Sauvignon Blanc & Alvarinho 2024 Vinho Verde White 75cl

Soalheiro Sauvignon Blanc & Alvarinho is the result of Soalheiro's constant search to discover the region's full potential. After the success with Pinot Noir, we decided to explore what expressions of Sauvingon Blanc could grow in our region. This search resulted in a unique Sauvignon Blanc, different from its expressions in France or New Zealand. The excellent adaptation of the Sauvignon Blanc variety to Minho makes it an interesting combination with the Alvarinho variety, which results in a blend with the first showing more on the nose and the second helping to round off the taste.

Terroir: The terroirs of our region have an enormous variety and potential that has not yet been fully explored. This Soalheiro shows the beauty of Alvarinho de Monção and Melgaço, where it benefits from the hot days and cold nights. It is also an excellent expression of the Atlantic-influenced Sauvignon Blanc, these vineyards being located in the Atlantic area of the Minho region, where Sauvignon Blanc benefits from a cool climate and granitic soils, preventing overripening.

Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked and pressed, followed by gentle decanting. Sauvignon Blanc and Alvarinho ferment at low temperature in separate stainless steel vats before blending . This practice makes it possible to obtain a wine that is simultaneously aromatic, with the vegetable notes of Sauvignon Blanc, and with a mineral aftertaste, achieved through the structure of Alvarinho.
