Region: Lisbon, Portugal Producer: Casa Agrícola das Mimosas - Quinta de Chocapalha Grapes: 65% Touriga Nacional, 35% Tinta Roriz Alcohol Content: 14.5% Soil Type: Limestone Clay Vineyard Age: 32 years
With a deep color and violet hue, Quinta de Chocapalha Vinha Mãe Reserva Red reveals an impressive aromatic concentration. On the nose, notes of ripe black fruits and elegant floral nuances stand out. In the mouth, it presents freshness and rich tannins that provide structure and great aging potential. The finish is long, elegant and persistent, standing out for its harmony and complexity.
The grapes were de-stemmed and subjected to pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures for 12 hours. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in plants, with temperature control and the use of treading robots, not exceeding 27°C for 9 days. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also took place.
Ideal to accompany sophisticated red meat dishes, such as beef wellington, game meat or roast lamb. It also pairs perfectly with aged cheeses and dishes based on mushrooms and spices. Serve between 16-18°C.
Winemakers: Sandra Tavares da Silva & Miguel Cavaco
