Coming from old vines, single varietal, of the Alvarinho variety, on sandy soil terraces, on a slope with exposure to the east, south and west. Located in Roussas (Melgaço), in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço.
Simple cord vines. 40% of the vineyards were planted in 1985 (35 years), 40% 30 years ago and 20% 10 years ago. 70% in descending single cord, 25% in cross and 5% in ramada.
Different vineyard conditions allow grapes to be very exposed to the sun and others protected, which allows good aromatic expression and good structure.
Vineyards surrounded by different trees, in their own terroir and produced in an integrated protection system – minimal interventions that harm the environment.
VINIFICATION
Manual harvest, for 20 kg boxes, quickly transported to the cellar, where the bunches are pressed whole, slowly. Must obtained is thrown into stainless steel vats, where it rests for 36 hours.
Decantation follows to remove the must from the lees. After cleaning the must, it is launched in a stainless steel vat where it ferments at a controlled temperature of 14 degrees. After fermentation, about 30 days, the wine is removed from the lees and thrown still cloudy (with fine lees) in another vat, where it ages for a period of no less than five months.
During the internship, it is subjected to weekly concreting. After being filtered, it is bottled. It goes to the market one month after bottling.
