Recently acquired by Falua, Quinta do Hospital is located in the parish of Ceivães, in the municipality of Monção, dominating the national road at the eastern end of the town of Valinha, in one of the largest and most impressive valleys of the Minho. A fully walled property with a manor house - the Solar do Hospital -, with a 16th-century emblazoned facade, testifies to the legacy that dates back to the twelfth century, a period in history in which D. Teresa donated the lands to the Hospitalária Order of São João de Jerusalem or Order of the Hospital, for the Hospitallers to settle in the County of Portugal.

Falua, at Quinta do Hospital, in Monção, has just launched the Vinho Verde Barão do Hospital Alvarinho 2020 and Loureiro 2020, affirming a new brand in the Wine Region that recovers the history and origins of Portugal with the signature of the winemaker Antonina Barbosa. A total area of ​​25 hectares, of which 10 are exclusively dedicated to the Alvarinho variety, gives rise to crops that define the Monção and Melgaço sub-region in the most authentic expression of terroir.

In the heart of the variety, Barão do Hospital Alvarinho 2020 is an ambassador for granitic soils that are expressed in irreverent minerality in harmony with floral nuances, aromas of white fruit and some citrus. It is elegant, intense and of great complexity at the same time as it is structured, with a lively and well-integrated acidity and a long aftertaste with a spicy note, ideal to accompany fish and seafood dishes, poultry and some cheeses. and sausages.

With a citrus color and high aromatic intensity, Barão do Hospital Loureiro 2020 is defined in varied floral notes that merge with citrus aromas in which lemon and lime predominate. With a long and intense aftertaste, it affirms a remarkable freshness and minerality that celebrate one of the most iconic grape varieties in the Region. It pairs perfectly with fish dishes, vegetarian cuisine, pasta and salads, but can simply be enjoyed without any gastronomic accompaniment.
