Alvaianas - Alvarinho Wine Producer

The company Alvaianas, created in 1996, is a family business and is located in Paços, Melgaço.

The Producer has 3 brands/concepts for the wines he produces:

• Alvaianas : Production of 100% Alvarinho Wines and Sparkling Wines;
• Quinta das Alvaianas : Production of 100% Alvarinho and Organic Wines;
• Côto de Sant'ana : Production of Rosé, Vinhão, Loureiro and Red Sparkling wines from the sub-region.

There are 4 hectares of vineyard located on a slope facing west, benefiting from a terroir that allows the production of wines with very balanced acidity and alcohol content and with aging potential.

The new Quinta das Alvaianas winery, opened in 2021, is the winery located in the northernmost part of Portugal. A modern winery that deserves your visit.

When the relief leans in an amphitheater over the river Minho are the Alvaianas vineyards, where an incomparable wine emerges, which reflects the combination of soil and climate conditions of the region, the variety, the effort and work of man.

Under these conditions, the Alvarinho variety, cultivated according to the most recent technologies and preserving the most ancient traditions of vine cultivation, careful selection of grapes and winemaking technology, provides a wine of high finesse, with a citrus color, balanced, with high persistence. and harmony in the mouth, resulting from the balance between alcohol content and acidity.
